Turns out vampires are real and now, thanks to a blood substitute called Tru Blood, they no longer have to chow down on humans to survive.

Tru Blood is a delicious new beverage that comes in O, A, B and AB. Choose the one that suits your palate, from the creative and innocent to the bold and adventurous, there’s a Tru Blood just for you. You can see the whole line of products at the Tru Blood website. Simply use their patented Type Finder program and you’ll know exactly which type of Tru Blood to order.

Of course, a few of them still enjoy the taste of a freshly snapped vein and others do it for the sexual high, but in general the vamps are no longer a threat to humans. That’s why the American Vampire League was created. This organization is working hard to get equal rights for Vampires under the law.

We have to face facts, humans are a prejudiced people, and so there are plenty of them who aren’t happy to have vampires living next door. Vampires are taking our jobs! Vampires are dating our daughters! And now they’ve organized an anti-vampire rights group called Fellowship of the Sun .

With the lies, they’re telling, it’s hard to know who to trust. If you want to keep abreast of all that’s happening in the quest for vampire rights, subscribe to BloodCopy. This blog will keep you up to date on all the latest information from both sides of the fangs.

There’s evil on both sides, people. So be informed, be careful and beware.

That’s True Blood.

ABC announced today that they not only have a new show called Flash Forward on the schedule, but they’ve been secretly pitching it to you for awhile now.

Most people noticed the ads during Lost at the end of April. Several very quick visual images popped up on the screen during the breaks with the phrase “What Did You See?”

The phrase led to a website called The Mosaic Collective where you are asked to submit a phrase describing what you saw and then you’re presented with a short video.

In the TV show, Flash Forward, everyone on the planet blacks out and experiences 2 mins and 17 seconds of their future. I’m assuming the Mosaic Collective will be a group on the show that is dedicated to make sense of what everyone has seen - since, I’m assuming, not everyone will automatically understand that they’ve seen the future.

I suspect there are more “What Did You See?” clues hidden around the Internet. Let me know if you find anymore.

In the case of Superantural, it was the murderous Mordecai that was brought to life thanks to the believers on the urban legend website Hell Hounds Lair.

Sam and Dean find out that the site is being run by a pair of would be Ghostbusters named Ed Zeddmore and Harry Spengler. They trick the boys into printing a false story about Mordecai in order to make him vulnerable to special shot gun rounds but so many people hit the website it goes down before the change can take place.

In the end, Sam and Dean burn the Hell House to the ground in order to stop the deadly ghost. But that’s not the last we see of Ed and Harry.

Pay a visit to HellHoundsLair.com and add your own favorite urban legend — but becareful because there’s no doubting the power of the Internet.

But sometimes real numbers are used as either a marketing ploy or just as a kick - in other words, as an Easter Egg for fans to find.

Here are a few examples.
(Note that most of these numbers no longer work, it’s the nature of beast)

– Supernatural

In the episode “Phantom Traveler,” Sam and Dean call dad’s cell phone and they hear a message from John telling people to call his son Dean if they need help. He gives the number 866-907-3235. At the time, if you called the number, you got Dean’s voicemail saying: “This is Dean Winchester. If this is an emergency, leave a message. If you are calling about 11-2-83, page me with your coordinates.” It was recorded by Jensen Ackles and the 11-2-83 is the date of their mother Mary’s death.

The captioning on the show did not put up this number. It put up a number with a Kansas exchange and 555 prefix, probably taken from the original script.

— Scrubs

Dr. Turk’s cell phone number was given as (916) CALL-TUR. Callers were sent to a voicemail box with outgoing messages recorded by various cast members.

– The Office

In the episode, Dwight put up posters in order to catch a flasher. The number on the poster, 1-800-984-3672, led to recordings of Dwight giving you the option to choose buying paper, information on the flasher, and an option for the flasher himself. This number was previously used as Dwight’s cell phone number for a special interactive message that went with the sale of the DVD box set.

– The West Wing

In the episode “In This White House,” we see a cell phone call on a character’s phone. The number listed, 202-456-1414 is the actual phone number for the White House switchboard.

THE MASSIVE DYNAMIC STORY

In 1992, after years of hard work and research, William Bell had finally succeeded in the creating the biomedical marvel that would change the face of medicine and assure his place in science history. His prototype nanoelectronic circuit enabled the translation of neural impulses into electronic data, a major breakthrough in moveable prosthetics. Bell decided the time had come to found a company that would, as he put it, “satisfy the technological needs of this century and the next.” With the backing of a small group of investors, BELLMEDICS was born.

Welcome to the Fringe.

Massive Dynamic is the mysterious, villainous corporation that may or may not be behind many of the creepy things that happen on Fringe every week. The company, who’s tag like is “What Don’t We Do?” conducts research in just about every area of science including biology, aerospace, computing, energy, and even leisure technology.

The website looks pretty much like any basic corporate website you might find on the web. It opens with a flash screen that shows a 3-D rotating M and a cube with the various company buzzwords shifting around until they form a menu. From there you can choose to visit anyone of the topic areas, all of which are designed to convince you that Massive Dynamic has your best interests at heart. Ironically, a lot of what you see here is reminiscent of the chemical companies like Monsanto, who, in the 50’s, was out pushing themselves as the miracle makers of the future.

“Massive Dynamic’s prenatal therapies cured my daughter before she was even born.”

“MD’s Zeno-Transit Initiative aims to take that process to the limit, making near-instantaneous travel a reality in your lifetime.”

“The Mass-Dyn Z10 video game system has brought the experience of immersive gaming to young and old alike, while our Giga-Def television technology has been installed in government agencies and corporate offices worldwide.” (Do I detect a worldwide takeover threat in that statement?)

At the bottom of the site are a series of links to the traditional corporate pages. You have Contact Us, Careers, Our Company, News and Press.

The Our Company link takes you to a bio page which has a listing for William Bell but no photo (though now they could put one there) and Nina Sharp, whom we also know from the series. The Careers link will take you to a page where you can submit your resume for a job as a Neuroprgrammer or perhaps you’d prefer to work in the kitchen. I haven’t tried submitting a resume but I will just to see the response.

The most intriguing page is the one marked Employee Access. You need a Username and Password to get in. Have we seen any employees on the show login to the website? Does anyone know how to hack this page? If so, let us know.

Turns out Elisa killed her former husband when she caught him cheating earning her the nickname “La Viuda Negra” aka The Black Widow.

The website is very basic, made to look like some amateur put it up in a hurry. It can be viewed in both English and Spanish and it’s loaded with creepy, crawly black widow spiders! Yikes, but totally fun.

555 is technically a directory assistance exchange but a large block of numbers inside this listing have been designated for use by TV shows and movies.

The reason behind this is simple. If you use a phone number on TV, people will call it. Just ask anyone who owned the number 867-5309 in the 1980’s. This number was used in the Tommy Tutone song Jenny and shortly after the phone company was swamped with complaints about people calling the number and asking for Jenny!

Common use of the 555 exchange dates back to the 70’s, though there have been reports of it appearing even earlier. If you’re really into it, someone has put together a huge list of the 555 numbers that have been used in the media. You’ll find another list here.

Things really get screwy when fictional characters know that the 555 number is a fake, as in the “Burn, Baby, Burns” episode of The Simpsons.

But not all phone numbers given out on TV are fakes. Stay tuned and I’ll tell you about a few that were very, very real.
